Sheridan Nighlinger is the nom de guerre used by my mysterious horror-adventure hero Feril Nightlinger during the 1920s and “The Adventure of the Ambitious Task” was first published in SHERLOCK HOLMES AND THE OCCULT DETECTIVES, VOL. II. I have since incorporated it into my new Sherlock Holmes novel THE ADVENTURE OF THE COAL-TAR DERIVATIVE which will be released by MX Publishing on November 3 and is currently available as an audio book from Audible.
